Frequently Asked Questions

I'm not flexible. Can I do yoga?

Yes! Yoga is a practice. You just start where you are. It's like stepping into a running stream that has no beginning or end. Just get in the water, and see what happens...

Do I need a mat?

Ideally, yes. Your yoga mat is a personal choice and investment. There are endless types of yoga mats--thinner or thicker, shorter or longer, synthetic or natural materials. If you'd like some suggestions, options, or have any questions, send me an email-- I'm happy to help!

Besides a mat, what else do I bring?

  • An open mind
  • BYOB (It's bring your own breath)
  • Water bottle*
  • Towel*
  • One or two yoga blocks* (to make some postures more accessible)
  • Yoga strap or long necktie* (to assist with some postures)
  • For Strength/Workout classes, bring 1 or two sets of free weights (one heavy set, one light set)

What is Zoom? How does Zoom work?

Zoom is an online platform where you can see and hear live classes virtually. You can download the app on either a computer, tablet, or mobile device, and participate in class wherever you have internet: perhaps from your backyard or your living room!

What do I wear?

Something comfortable and easy to move in. You absolutely do not need designer or expensive workout clothes. I recommend practicing barefoot for yoga, and supportive athletic shoes for Strength/Workout classes.

What if I have injuries or health issues?

First, make sure your doctor gives you the okay to practice yoga. Be sure to communicate your concerns to me, so I may offer modifications or specific poses more appropriate for your condition(s).

Do you offer private lessons?

Yes! Private lessons are a great way to receive personalized attention outside of a class environment. Learn fundamentals and how to modify your yoga practice or feel more confident in group classes. Contact Jen for more information.

What does it cost? How do I pay?

Group classes are currently offered on a drop-in, donation basis. Students in attendance typically donate between $10-25 for each group class.
